At DAPA, we think it's no good spending hours learning to perfect a particular technique or rehearsing a spectacular song and dance routine if no one ever sees it. Therefore we actively encourage students to use their skills in performances both within the school, and externally. We also encourage students to take medals and exams. Although this is in no way compulsory, but it's a great way to measure progress and build confidence. Last year our pupils achieved a 100% pass rate in their singing, drama and dance examinations.

The school regularly puts on shows and cabarets both in Dorking and the surrounding area, and we will soon be arranging exchange visits to other national and international schools. We are also a supporter of the Arts Alive Festival which runs annually in Mole Valley.

We also encourage children to compete in different disciplines where possible, which can be from drama festivals, to dance sport competition in the freestyle, and Latin/ballroom arena. This year we also hope to start formation teams which can compete in both local and
national competitions.
