Inspiration and motivation come from many sources, but we think that seeing your favourite star in performance or hearing your ultimate singer live is one of the best ways to encourage and develop an interest in the arts. We therefore run regular trips to see different aspects of performing arts including dance, drama and theatre.

PERFORMING ARTS = LIFE SKILLS
Not everyone who studies performing arts ends up in the theatre or in a related profession, although everyone can get something out of it. Learning to speak clearly and confidently is a great boon in adult life, as is having a grace of movement, an understanding of other people and their situations, and being able to work successfully as an individual or as part of a group. These skills are the core of performing arts, and as such, we greatly value the contribution that performing arts can make to life skills. When so much emphasis is placed nowadays on academic achievement, we believe that developing a confident all-round character is vital for modern living.

SCHOLARSHIPS
At DAPA we want to encourage youngsters and promote talent wherever and whenever we can. That's why we offer two scholarships at each school each year. The lucky recipients will be awarded free attendance at two classes of their choice for a year. And since we particularly want to encourage boys to study the performing arts, one of the scholarships will always be awarded to a boy.
